Steven Pienar banned from driving in England

Now I don't what it is but our South African soccer players abroad might need a lesson in model behaviour, I mean didn't anyone learn anything from Jabu Pule/Mahlungu's mistakes when he was playing overseas?

Steven found himself in kak all over again:

Bafana Bafana star midfielder Steven Pienaar has been slapped with a life-long driving ban in England and will never be allowed to get behind the wheel of his beloved Aston Martin or Merc in that country, according to reports.

The darling of South African football was first fined R12000 and banned from driving for 12 months by a British court in March after pleading guilty to a drunk-driving charge.

The suspension was to be reduced by three months if he completed an alcohol awareness course before October 7. But he was banned for life when he appeared in court this week after failing to complete the course, which was to end on Thursday.

On February 21, Pienaar was stopped by the police in the wee hours of that Sunday, a day after celebrating Everton’s 3-1 win over English champions Manchester United.

The Merseyside Police found Pienaar had 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Does Pienaar’s court appearance this week have anything to with his no-show for Bafana, who faced the Lone Stars of Sierra Leone in a goal-less draw in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in Freetown yesterday?

Safa spokesperson Morio Sanyane admits he’s unsure of the status of Schillo’s reported injury following a vague posting on Everton’s website.

On Wednesday his Everton club officials described Pienaar’s injury as “unknown”, without revealing when he would return, while comprehensive details were provided for the rest of the club’s sidelined players.

The Bafana dribbling wizard joined Everton on loan in 2007 and his move from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund was made permanent last year.

What I don't understand is the fact that these guys can easily afford to hire a limo service or take a cab but no! Guys want to see if English authorities really like them or not, guess they don't dig you too much mate cause they keep nabbing you for the same violation. Now you have no choice but to sell your Aston and Merc and start taking cabs everywhere!
