Jub Jub trial set to start UPDATED

Its looks like its time to face the music for Jub Jub and his co accused Themba Tshabalala as his trial starts today.

The murder trial of hip hop artist Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye and co-accused Themba Tshabalala, charged for allegedly killing four school children in a road accident, was due to start on Monday.

The pair's trial was set down to take place in the Protea Magistrate's Court from Monday to Friday this week.

The two men face four murder charges following an accident in March this year which killed four school children walking next to the road and critically injured two others.

The crash happened in Soweto when their Mini Coopers veered off the road, allegedly while they were drag racing.

The prosecution said earlier that preliminary tests showed that Maarohanye had cocaine and morphine in his system at the time of the crash, while Tshabalala was twice over the legal alcohol limit.

The court heard that Ike Motloung was busy in a high court as an acting judge and could therefore not represent his musician client.

The case was set down for four days, starting on December 13.

The sad part about this case is the loss of 4 young peoples lives due to reckless behaviour, I guess when it comes to the law Jub Jub is innocent until proven guilty but the public have already made up their minds.
