wake up nation! Oh the Irony |
While this amount is a little more palleteable than last years loss of 920 million, it's still ahuge number. SABC board chairperson Ben Ngubane on Wednesday said the public broadcaster is far from being insolvent.
Ngubane and his team have been briefing Parliament on the SABC’s annual report.
The broadcaster made a loss of close to half a billion rand in 2009/2010 and fell short of what was needed for further government guarantee. CFO Robin Nicholson, explained that the SABC could trade successfully until October next year without a further government guarantee. In my honest opinion the SABC, is a bunch of bullshit, i got to pay a liscence for some shit that i'll never, and i mean ever watch.
throw it all away |
You think i'm sitting at home watching Generations, when i could be watching something else? The fuck outta here. The local content just sucks. Instead of developing something local, that's relevant for the people they force to pay their T.V lisc(cause let's face facts here socio-economically speaking not everyone is paying that shit).Instead i have to watch fuckin Soul city re-runs or some shitty cheap American soapie like Days of our Lives. When it comes to Sport the National broadcaster really fucked up. I don't see no Springbok games on their channels, yet the govt complains that the sport is not played by black people. How the fuck is someone from a rural setting going to aspire to play a sport he never ever sees? Not only from a development point of view, but also from a money spinning one, we all know that those Tri- Nations broadcasts , the year end overseas tours, those generate huuuge amounts of money. Yet they let multi choice air that exclusively. The Broadcaster is fucked, with the advent of quicker and cheaper internet, they can forget the current viewership they already have, and i'll be damned if i have to pay some lisc fee. Just so some of you can dumb down on tomorrows episode of Generations!!
