It's about time we stopped denying ourselves. |
Maybe I’m the sick one here, but why do I get the feeling that black women are having some identity issues, especially those in predominantly white suburbs? Back in the 80’s our grandmothers were all about skin lighteners, they got over that when uTata came into power, seems like their granddaughters have picked up where they left off!
WHY, WHY, WHY?
It’s ridiculous, in high school you were as dark as the black night and all of a sudden your face has defined yellow bone while the rest of you looks like it was involved in a brawl with Mr. Sun and we know who won hands down!
Who the eff are you fooling Kim? |
Hhayi man, this is really disturbing! Nobody likes you when you look like that, well at least I don’t (but I bet I don’t matter anyways). Seriously though, you’re causing irreversible damage to the skin PLUS you look like a monster, now where’s the beauty in that? True cliché: although I cannot deny the importance of the exterior, the essence of a person is who they are, not what you look like!
Ladies, just like we cannot all be white, we cannot all be light skinned, we're just different like that, accept it! We live in an era where we should be proud to be black and yet we choose to look like Caucasian Barbie dolls? Black sister: love thy curves, kinky hair, flat nose and fat lips coz these are the assets that make you drop dead gorgeous!
I love y’all! Let there be style…
