Joy Ride gone wrong UPDATED

Being young has its ups and downs especially when you don't apply common sense to every day situations. A Pretoria boy stole his moms Hummer and went on a joy ride which resulted him hitting three bikers head on.

Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said the incident happened on Saturday in Rachel de Beer Street.

"The boy stole the Hummer from his mother and began driving it on the wrong side of the street. He then crashed into the three motorcyclists head on," Nkoadi said on Monday.

Two of the men died at the scene.

Shortly after the crash, all three vehicles caught fire, and the youth fled on foot.

"It all burnt to the ground."

The third biker was in a serious condition in hospital.

Nkoadi said police were still looking for the boy.

According to reports, the bikers belong to the Christian Motorcyclists Association and were on their way to a prayer service.

The 18-year-old boy who crashed into and killed two motorcyclists and injured a third with his mother’s Hummer in Pretoria North, has apparently sent her an SMS saying he has fled to Zimbabwe.

Apparently he wants to come home, but is too afraid.

The police have given the parents until Tuesday to convince him to hand himself over, otherwise they will issue a warrant for his arrest.

Once again the young man should have practised common sense by not driving on the wrong side of the road, now his mom is wondering where the hell her Hummer is and where the hell her son is cause I know that that guy did go home because thats the first place police will look.
