Katlego Mphela involved in gun row

Shit like this has me in stitches, South African so called celebs are far too accesible. You should have to go through tons of red tape to get to anyone famous and only touch them if they wanna be toucehd. But what do i know i write a blog in my parents basement.

The guy in the squad that looked most focused, now has his name dragged through the mud. Personally i think the bafana squad needed some time off after the World Cup, firstly they had all that money burning a whole in their pockets, secondly they hadn't had the oppurtunity to just relax and blow off steam, after the World Cup.  This story sounds like something out of footballers wives. Mphela story after the jump...

A Mamelodi Sundowns player who witnessed the incident says Mphela and his friend, known only as Otwa, arrived at a park in Verde Park, Centurion, where there was a shindig.
“His friend Max phoned him and asked him to come and join them,” says the player.
When Mphela, who was driving a navy blue Audi RS4 roadster, arrived he found Max shooting the breeze with some soccer players.

When Max went to welcome him, he found Mphela chatting to his (Mphela’s) girlfriend, whose name is unknown – and who is also Max’s chick.
Max told the footballer he shouldn’t set a cap at the girl as she was his lady. But Mphela told Max to “f*** off”.
Taxed beyond endurance, Max charged at Mphela, barking at him: “Mfana Katlego, you say f*** off to me? I’ll shoot your leg and end your career, mfana.
“Patrice Motsepe’s money makes you disrespectful, mfana. I will destroy you, mfana.”
Max shouted this while he and the footie violently pushed and shoved each other.
Otwa then drew a gun and pointed it at Max, daring him to shoot Mphela.
“What did you say Max? You said you’d shoot Katlego?
“I dare you mfana. You won’t. I will shoot you first. You are nothing,” he said, wielding his pistol.
Max lost his he-man attitude and froze like a rain-drenched chicken.
The woman who caused the trouble got into her Golf 5 and drove off. Max followed her in his latest BMW M3.

chase scene straight out of fast and furious

Mphela and Otwa followed them to a Sasol garage, where they parked.
It is alleged that the tearaway Otwa got out of the car and manhandled Max, threatening to bliksem him.
They were separated by police officers who happened to be at the scene.
“Max then told the police to search Katlego’s car because there was a firearm hidden in it.
“By that time Katlego was standing away from the rascals. I think it was after he saw the police,” says the source.
The police searched the car and found the firearm and asked who the owner was.
But Otwa denied ownership.
Mphela insisted it was Otwa’s.
“The police said because nobody claimed ownership of the firearm, they would arrest the owner of the car.
“And who was the owner of the car? Katlego! He almost peed in his pants,” says the source.
Mphela begged Otwa to tell the truth when they arrived at Verde Bridge police station.
Apparently Otwa disowned the firearm because it belonged to his brother and he was going to be arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm.
The police verified the firearm belonged to Otwa’s brother.
It is not known why Otwa was not charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and his brother with negligence.
Mphela confirms that Max threatened to shoot him and says he regrets the incident.
“This guy found me talking to someone I have known for a while and started pushing and threatening to shoot me.
“The situation got ugly when Otwa pulled out a firearm and threatened to shoot Max. But we have resolved this matter,” he says.
Verde Bridge police spokesperson Agnes Huma confirms the incident, but says nobody was arrested because the firearm was legal and no assault charges were opened.
