South African wines to be served at Royal Wedding

If you didn't know that South Africa wines are revered the world over, thats alright... you'll be an uncultured Beer drinking tit for the rest of your life. If you happen to be in the loop when it comes to SA wines this is right up your alley as our local wines will be served at the up coming Royal Wedding. More details after the jump:

Stellenbosch producer, Haskell Vineyards, is proud to announce that their wines have been chosen to be served at the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock, a former South African Olympic representative. The wedding ceremony will take place in July this year
"Obviously we're delighted and honoured to be afforded this privilege," said Haskell Vineyards partner, Grant Dodd. "Prince Albert has been a regular visitor to the winery over the past five years. He was also the first person to sign up for our Platinum Wine Club. He's been a great supporter and unfailingly complimentary towards our wines. His validation has been pivotal in helping to establish our brands in Monaco and in bringing Haskell and Dombeya to the attention of wine lovers both here and abroad."

Dombeya Wines, Haskell Vineyards’ foundation brand, will be served exclusively at functions in Monaco and South Africa as the royal couple celebrate their marriage.

Haskell and Dombeya wines have garnered numerous awards and accolades, both locally and internationally. The Haskell Pillars Syrah 2007 made South African wine history in 2009 when it won Best Red Wine and Best Wine of Show in the Tri-Nations Challenge against Australia and New Zealand. The Haskell Pillars has also been awarded 5 stars in the 2010 and 2011 John Platter wine guide, South Africa's most important wine evaluation publication.

“The selection of a South African wine for a royal wedding is yet another endorsement of the great quality our top wineries can offer,” added Su Birch, Chief Executive Officer of Wines of South Africa (Wosa).

I'm proud that we'll have our finest wines representing us in Monaco but over and above that Charlene Whittstock bagged herself a Prince, now thats pimping! To top it all off she has an uncanny resemblence to Grace Kelly, Prince Alberts mom.
