Mos Def & Talib Kweli to Reunite in 2012 for New Black Star Album

For those of y'all who grew up listening to some proper Hip Hop, you'll be happy to know that Mos & Kwa are going to be at it again, the fellas are feigning dropping another Black Star album and I'm pretty sure its going to be up to scratch, I was rather disappointed with the follow up to Reflection Eternal which left a lot to be desired, so this better be hot! More after the jump:

n a recent chat with MTV Hive, Talib Kweli gave fans an update on the Black Star reunion with Mos Def, once hinted at in August when a snippet of an unfinished Black Star track leaked, featuring a verse from Mos.

Since then, the two have gone on tour and even performed a new song on The Colbert Report
Despite denying rumors of a reunion in the past, Talib confirms a new Black Star album has been scheduled for release in 2012. Here's what the rapper had to say:

Me and Mos are focused on independence and quality of sound. We’re really into a Madlib/Dilla thing right now. Anything you hear from us is probably going to be that type of sound. And it’s about independence, so we are trying to find out the right mediums to get the songs out. When you heard “Fix Up” on Colbert, it wasn’t even mixed; it was something we recorded a week before. Now we’re at the mixing stage of the song and we are going to put that out ourselves. We have a bunch of songs recorded. We are just trying to figure out the best way to release them, whether it’s going to be one by one, EP or album. Right now, the plan is to release “Fix Up” and then Yaasin is working on aYaasin Bey Presents project and then we’ll see how it goes.

I am working to put out a Black Star project for people to buy sometime next year.

Looking forward to the next master piece!
