JHB, the place where Phuza Thursday, reared it's beautiful head. So it's only fitting we head out on this, the most JHB, of days and offer our first drop.
JHB, Northern Surburbia, nestled in what was recently a residential area we hit up the Office, in Greenside, on Gleneagles road, flanked by a slew of other drinkin holes.
Not as out of hand as Melville, but a place for a slightly older set, those who've graduated from the debauchery, that takes place in Melville.

I don't know bout your office, but mines is a cubicled, open plan plan hell, the name had those images flashin through my mind.
Place is minimal in decor, but still manages to take care of the minor details. One wall lined with booths, the opposing wall covered with a bar that runs nearly the full length of the place. It's a bit of a tight squeeze, if you're unfortunate enough to be without a chair. There is a lounge area, towards the back, an enclosed area giving offf a cigar lounge type vibe, but there was a private function on that night, and your boys had no access.(definately a space i'd look to book in future, for an intimate get together)
fully stocked ready for any eventuality |
The Vibe. Good mix of people, everything from your arty types, to your suits, very nice women ever present, smokey, dimly lit, music at a good level, nice humm of conversation never outdoes the music, good place for those with game. Music, you're lookin at a straight up 80's playlist- Depeche Mode - just can't get enough, that sort of fair. On A Sunday they have half price cocktails, which our intern rates quite well.
The damage, now the standard unit of measurement will always be the 2 beer round(don't ask) tonight we leaned towards heineken, those came in at 36 bucks- fair in my books.

L.G: this place i'm gonna have to give it a 3 out of 5, good vibe , not too hectic, good people(shout out to some of the networks made there, sort out the seating arrangement, standing , aint the most comfortable thing to do there ). I'd be back, and those women would keep me comin back. Good place to warm up before headin out to the real spot.
