Noble M600

British (well, sort of) supercar specialist Noble has released official pictures of the production-ready version of its Veyron-baiting M600. 

It has a new space frame and all-carbon fibre body, built by Hi-Tech Automotive in Port Elizabeth, and a mid-mounted 4.4-litre V8 engine delivering 485kW and 818Nm to the rear wheels.

The whole car weighs only about 1200kg and has a better power-to-weight ratio than even the Bugatti Veyron, good enough to take it from standstill to 200km/h in a claimed 8.9sec and on to a top speed of 365km/h.

To help make the M600 more manageable in normal road use, drivers can change the power output to suit conditions, with 335kW, 410kW and 485kW modes, each using a different throttle map.

The traction control is adjustable right down to being completely switched off via what Noble calls the “Missile Switch”. 

Inside, the interior is trimmed with more carbon fibre along the centre console and door panels and the switchgear is all custom built. 

Noble has yet to release the price of the M600 but it is expected to be upwards of R2.2 million.

It says it has already received 52 deposits for the car when deliveries begin in April. 

The M600 is much cheaper than either the Bugatti or the new Pagani Huayra - each of which is likely to cost more than R5.5-million. 

Noble Automotive is based in Barwell, Leicestershire. It was established by British designer Lee Noble in 1999 and past products include the M12 GTO, M12 GTO-3, M12 GTO-3R and Noble M400.

Many people will tell you that Ferrari's and Porches are the bow wow but it takes a true car enthusiast to appreciate this beast that is the Noble M600, you'll be better than your average cock in the de rigeur cars.
