Johnie Walker Blue Label Collection
My mind is on all things whiskey at the moment, what with the F.N.B JHB Whiskey Live Festival 2011, kicking off 09-11 November, tickets avail here. Being the man that I am i prepare for these things, and while researching some of the finer whisekys, I stumbled upon this bit of news. After JohnnieWalker Blue announced their new look Blue bottle above, I was glad to see this Blue Label Collection.
Cosfibel and Diageo Reserve create Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label collection in partnership with Porsche Design Studio. This brand new collection created by Johnnie Walker Blue Label in collaboration with Porsche Design Studio features three fine objects and two limited edition—the first for the Duty Free market and the second for bars. More after the jump...
The first, “The Chiller”, houses a precious 75ml bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
The second, called «The Cube» features a 75ml bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, four crystal glasses and brushed stainless steel ice tongs engraved with the words ‘Striding Man’. A luminous version is also available for prestigious bars, hotels and restaurants.
For the travelling kind, the ‘Mini Cube’ will be available in Duty Free outlets. This version features a 75ml bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, two crystal glasses and the brushed stainless steel tongs engraved with ‘Striding Man’.
A private bar made to order
The most fortunate( by fortunate I mean exceedingly wealthy) clients can treat themselves to one of the 18 ‘Private Bars’ available the world over on special order. The bar measures 220cm X 66cm X 66cm and features two bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label 75 ml., a 1.5 liter magnum, eight crystal glasses of which five are beside a carafe and a crystal ice bucket in a refrigerated compartment. For this ‘Private Bar’, worth £100,000, Porsche Design Studio used only the finest of materials: leather, tinted mirrors and Australian wood for the first time in an interior design. This complex and refined unique piece also comes from its automatic opening system controlled by sensorial detection. Diageo Reserve in collaboration with Porsche Design Studio entrusted Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau GmbH (DWH), a specialist in fitting out luxury yachts, with the conception and creation of this innovative and futuristic ‘Private Bar’."
Goin from my experience at last years Whiskey Fest Live, Johnie Walker let us sip on all variants, they produce. All I walked away with was a key ring. This year I'm expecting to not only see a few of these bad bodys, but be the recipient of one of them. Or else Johnnie can change their slogan to "Keep Dreaming."
