Earliest Hitchcock footage found

Alfred Hitchcock pioneered many of the techniques used today in modern film such as framed shots to maximise anxiety, fear, or empathy, and used innovative film editing. As someone who has seen a number of Hitchcock films it seems in New Zealand they've discovered Hitchcock earliest footage. More after the jump:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, archivists in New Zealand have discovered the only known footage from The White Shadow, a 1924 Alfred Hitchcock film.

The British melodrama, starring Betty Compson as twin sisters, is believed to be Hitchcock’s earliest surviving feature and credits him as assistant director, art director, editor and writer.

The first three reels of the six-reel film were found in a cache of unidentified American nitrate prints at the New Zealand Film Archive in Wellington. A new preservation master and exhibition print will be sent to the US with plans for a re-premiere screening.

This one is for the film fundi's.
